Lucila Penedo y Novoa nació en Madrid en 1978, vive y trabaja en Bs.As. Obtuvo el Primer Premio AAMEC de Fotografía argentina contemporánea (2022), el Premio al mejor Fotolivro del Festival ZUM – Instituto Moreira Salles de Sao Paulo (2022), la Beca del Fondo Nacional de las Artes (2021) y del Fondo Metropolitano de las Artes a la Creación artística (2018 y 2014). Es autora del libro Los órdenes del amor, publicado por Asunción Casa Editora (2022). Participó de muestras, festivales, encuentros, congresos, premios y ferias en Argentina, Uruguay, Brasil, España y Reino Unido. Su obra forma parte de la colección del Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Emilio Caraffa y de colecciones privadas nacionales e internacionales.
Actualmente Lucila está cursando la Maestría en Estudios de la imagen y archivos fotográficos en la Universidad Nacional de San Martín.
Lucila Penedo y Novoa was born in Madrid in 1978. She now lives and works in Buenos Aires. She got the First Prize in the AAMEC Contemporary Argentinean Photography (in 2022), the Award to the best PhotoBook in Festival ZUM – Instituto Moreira Salles de Sao Paulo, Brazil (in 2022), a scholarship granted by the National Endowment for the Arts (in 2021) and another for the development of a creative project by the Metropolitan Endowment for the Arts (in 2018 and 2014). She is the author of the book The orders of Love, Los órdenes del amor, published by Asunción Casa Editora (2022) in which she explores her family archive to reconstruct the period of exile and separation due to the Dictatorship in Argentina during the 70s. She participated in exhibitions, festivals, conferences, awards and fairs in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Spain and the UK. Her work is part of the collection of the Fine Arts State Museum Emilio Caraffa and of private collections both national and international.
Currently Lucila is taking a master degree in “Studies of the image and photographic archives” at the San Martin National University.
